Committed to the proposition that selling products is the goal of the retailer, Custom Design, Inc., was established in 1976, almost thirty years ago, as a full service retail pop display manufacturer. Custom Design, Inc., (CDI) designs and manufactures custom display cases and store fixtures for point of purchase display merchandising that sells. CDI provides pop displays, custom retail store fixtures and store displays to satisfy the requirements of a wide variety of product suppliers, mass merchandisers and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers).
In addition to creative design and engineering, Custom Design, Inc., (CDI) supplies volume manufacturing of free standing retail store displays, portable displays, countertop display cases and display racks. CDI produces each display or store fixture with quality and pride. Knowing the importance of product presentation in the retail environment, CDI makes certain its displays enhance features of the merchandise and reflect the product's value in its retail casework and commercial fixtures.
Custom Design, Inc., understands image and function and makes use of hardwood and laminate for custom retail store point of purchase displays, knowing the richness of wood creates the image of enduring quality. Custom free standing floor point-of- purchase displays and store fixtures provide flexibility of location while creating an appearance of permanence. Fabricated acrylic and vacuum formed point of purchase displays allow for contoured, complex shapes to position the retail product in a user- friendly configuration, while providing a standout presentation. (See the CDI online portfolio for examples).
The wide range of custom point of purchase displays include: acrylic plastic displays; wood display cases; vacuum formed displays, metal display stands and display racks. Whether a display for personal apparel (eyewear, cosmetics, footwear, jewelry) is needed, telephone accessories, hand tools, specialty foods or healthcare products, the options available from Custom Design, Inc., in semi-permanent retail displays or permanent retail displays and store fixtures, dazzle the eye and starts the customer on the path leading to a purchase.
From the start of a project, the customer experiences the CDI difference, as one of its experienced and qualified sales representatives works closely with the customer to make certain the customer's display needs are highly prioritized at every stage of design and manufacture.
A project kicks into high gear when the CDI design staff reviews the retail display goals and the budget specifications, then develops those ideas into an innovative and functional design, created to sell products. Once the design has been finalized, our sample makers will construct a full size working prototype for the customer's approval.
Custom Design, Inc., offers a wide variety of materials: wood, metal, plastic, and all types of paper and fabric, but the selection options don't end there. Because CDI is a manufacturer, it has sophisticated fabrication facilities to offer vacuum forming, injection molding, metal and wire fabrication, silk screening, hot foil stamping, CNC routing and die cutting.
The CDI production staff is experienced in all aspects of assembly work. Through each phase of production, the highest standards of quality control are strictly followed. This ensures that each display unit delivered, will meet the customer's expectations, specifications and schedule.
Hardwood & Laminate Retail Store Display Fixtures
In combination with other materials or as a stand-alone medium the richness of wood creates the image of enduring quality. Hardwood is dense, strong, and relatively non-absorbent of water. The slow-growing hardwood trees include oak, maple, elm and ash. Some hardwoods (such as live oak and American holly) are evergreen.
The process of lamination applies a surface material over a core substrate. The most common laminations are "High Pressure Plastic" material or wood veneer material applied over a particle board substrate core material or a plywood substrate core material. A laminate is a material constructed by uniting two or more layers of material together. The process of creating a laminate is lamination, which usually refers to sandwiching something between layers of plastic and sealing them with heat and/or pressure.
Free Standing Floor Retail Point of Purchase Display Fixtures
Whether fixed or mobile these displays allow flexibility of location while providing an appearance of permanence.
Permanent Counter Top Point of Purchase Retail Displays
These portable displays position products where they are most accessible to the customer, providing maximum visibility within minimum space.
Fabricated Acrylic Commercial Store Fixtures
Contemporary, cost effectiveness without sacrificing quality these displays allow design flexible solutions to product presentation.
Vacuum Formed Retail and Point of Purchase Display Fixtures
Contoured, complex shapes position products in a user-friendly configuration while providing a standout presentation. Vacuum forming is a kind of thermoforming, whereby a sheet of plastic is heated to a forming temperature, stretched onto or into a single-surface mold, and held against the mold by applying vacuum between the mold surface and the sheet.
The stated mission of CDI represents an awareness of the retailer's mission:
In living out its mission, CDI takes seriously it responsibility to "be an asset to our community." A percentage of its assembly area is a workshop and training center for special needs personnel. These employees are involved in various light duty assembly work gaining skills and confidence in a mainstream work environment.
